George Michael’s Donation to Charity Helping Sexually Abused Children

POP star George Michael has donated £5,000 to help a Greenwich-based charity for children who have been sexually abused.

The singer has contributed to Mosac in Greenwich High Road, to fund its next helpline volunteer training course in September. Mosac provides services for children, their non-abusing parents and carers from Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham.

Co-ordinator Denise Hubble said: “We approached him for £5,000 to fund the course as volunteers for the line require specialist training. They are dealing with stressful and traumatic situations.”

Mosac runs a successful weekly therapy support group in Eltham and provides play therapy for abused children in Charlton, thanks to a grant from the Healthy Greenwich Fund. More people are now needed for the 10-week helpline volunteer course.
