Transcript of the short video clip on George Michael’s involvement and how he inspired the American television show “Eli Stone.” George was featured prominently throughout the first season of the series, and each episode was named after one of his songs.
Jordan Wethersby (played by Victor Garber): Ladies and gentlemen Mr. George Michael
Eli Stone (played by Jonny Lee Miller): Oh no, it’s not. No.
George Michael: No it’s not what? Are you Eli Stone? I’m George Michael
————————-
Greg Berlanti (Executive Producer and co-creator): For me, working and meeting George Michael was a dream. But he’s also the nicest guy in the world and in addition to that, who knew he is a great actor?
————————-
George Michael: Would you mind not poking me, please?
Eli Stone: I’m sorry. It’s just, you know, very solid for vision.
George Michael: You’re a very odd man.
————————-
George Michael: That the only two things I could do when I was a child that I was any good at were singing and acting.
————————-
Eli Stone: Why did you come to me?
George Michael: Well you might think I’m the odd one now but the other night I had a dream. And in the dream, I was completely lost when someone told me I needed to find a lawyer named Eli Stone.
————————–
Marc Guggenheim (Executive Producer/Co-creator): George really can act. That I think was the greatest surprise for us.
George Michael: I thought I was absolutely terrible the first day that we did. And then I warmed up to it.

Action!
George Michael: I love this country I love the fact that you guys have a constitution. That you practice separation of church and state but I don’t think I’m alone in wondering what’s going on with all that right now and in my opinion right now America could use a lot more people like Molly — the whole world could.
——————————-
Marc Guggenheim: All of his songs speak to the themes of the show. He writes a lot about idealism and faith and dreams.
George Michael: When I write music, I always … before I write the songs, I always try to create a mood first. So I think that was another reason they went for me.
Greg Berlanti: We haven’t really seen 80s music kind of come back, I think, in pop culture. It’s sort of .. and I think it’s time. And George was the icon of that era.
Matt Dawd (played Sam Jaeger : I’m looking for to be being taken down by George Michael’s bodyguards because I will try to embrace him in a big way.
Natasha Henstridge (played Taylor Weathersby): George Michael is killing my sex life!
——————-
Eli Stone: And music. Did you hear the music?
Taylor Weathersby: Yes, yes! I hear the music.
Eli Stone: Seriously, there’s music playing.
——————–
George Michael: Eli is going through something very surreal
——————–
Eli Stone: George Michael, that’s who it is!
——————–
George Michael: He keeps seeing and hearing things that aren’t there. Things like me.
——————–
Eli Stone: What am I supposed to do if George Michael comes back?
Sam Jaeger: Get an autograph
——————–
Victor Garber: And it turns out that Jordan Wethersby is a closeted George Michael fan.
——————–
George Michael: Good to meet you, Mr. Wethersby.
Victor Garber: It’s an honor, Mr. Michael.
George Michael: Yeah call me George.
——————–
Victor Garber: And it was so much fun because I’m … you know.. I am a little tongue-tied around people like that.

AND CAMERA! AND ACTION!
George Michael: Are you sure you want to do this?
Jordan Weathersby: I have never been more sure of anything in my life.
George Michael: Is he gonna be ok?
Eli Stone: Jordan is just gonna be fine. You’re the one doing a good thing George. High school football stadiums kind of a step down from the Staples Center but it means the world to these kids.
George Michael: Well you know these days, you just have to do what you can to try and make a difference, don’t you?
Eli Stone: Yeah.
George Michael: Can I give you a bit of advice?
Eli Stone: Anyone could
George Michael: I know I’ve had my share of hits but I have taken a few hits too. If there’s anything I’ve learned it’s that no matter what, you just have to keep going. Do you know what I mean?
Eli Stone: I think I do.
George Michael: Good. Well that’s settled in
VOICE OVER: Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. George Michael!
George Michael: Thank you!
[Applause]
George Michael: That is where I come out and the audience, you know … just put hands in the air. Like that. Yeah, people do actually clap on my shows.
______________
Victor Garber: George couldn’t have been more game and more excited to be here. And more fun to work with. And we had a great time.
